I'm Someone's Favorite!

Jo, my friend from The Bright Yellow Balloon, has bestowed me with The Liebster Blog Award! Thank you Jo! You are one of the sweetest ladies I have had the priviledge of meeting in the blogosphere. I really enjoy your blog because you make me giggle and think with your unique writing voice. I really appreciate your kind words about me and my blog! BIG hugs, my friend!

Okay, I’m sure some of you might be wondering what The Liebster Award is. Well, let ME tell you, because I did some research, since I’m anal, and wanted to see who started this award, when it was started and just exactly what Liebster really means.

I couldn’t find out who started it or when (even Wikipedia doesn’t mention this blog award—oh the horror!) but Liebster does translate to favorite in German. Upon more research I found that Liebster has been bestowed to up and coming blogs with less than two hundred followers and many present this award to Bloggers to acknowledge them for good articles and posts and it’s a way to encourage them to continue writing.

Isn’t that delightful! The up and coming and good articles and posts part, that is. Because I don’t want to brag about having less than two hundred followers. Actually, my Google thingie only has twenty-nine, and some of those don’t even blog anymore! Feedburner says I have about forty-five subscribers—again, nothing to brag about. I do believe my heart would jump to my throat if that went up over one hundred and if I ever became a marathon blogger and had hundreds of followers—I’m sure I’d feel like I hit the lottery! And IF that happens, I promise I will remember all of YOU who made it possible!

Another thing I promise, I will always reply to ALL my readers when they leave a comment. I find it absolutely uncouth when I leave a comment and the crickets are queued—nothing, nadda. Not even a Hi, thanks for stopping by. I don’t expect other Bloggers to visit my blog (although I would be lying if I said I wouldn’t like it) but I do expect my comment to be acknowledged. If you can’t respect me, then, I’m outta there. I have too much respect for myself to permit someone to IGNORE me.

 I digress.

There are rules that accompany The Liebster Award. I’m not big on rules. Who is, though, right? The rules are as follows:

1. You thank the person who gave you the award
2. Link back to that person’s blog
3. Copy and paste the Liebster Award to your blog
4. Pick 5 Blogs you feel deserve to be noticed (they have to have under 200 followers)
5. Then finally blog it and leave a comment to let your 5 choices know they have been chosen

I completed number 1, 2, and 3. Yippee! However, I’m gonna go rouge on you folks now though. Yep, I’m breaking some rules. I was Shenked just two weeks ago and I listed the few blogs that I comment on, although I do read more, I just don’t leave comments. I know, my bad. I really should leave more comments, but then if they don’t respond, I have to do that whole unsubscribe crap. I’m like that— doing stuff on principle. Not that the Blogger would ever know, but I would know. Ya know?

So here’s what I’m going to do instead of listing five blogs. You can go here, to when I was shenked, and read what I wrote about a few blogs. You can also go to my blogroll on my right side bar and click those. I know, I’m breaking the Liebster Award chain. It’s probably like breaking a mirror; I’ll get like fifty years of bad luck or some stupid shit.

Oh, well, I don’t even do those chain email things that say I have to send it within five minutes or I’ll go straight to hell. I hear it’s really warm there and I’m SURE I can smoke. Sign me up.

    You GO, girl!!!!!

And thank you for sharing the meaning of this award because I've seen it on other blogs and had no idea what the title meant?
