Out of the Closet

Okay, this is my first real post as the Siren and I need to make some sense. I think the best place to start is the closet.

Women love closets. Our most treasured and detested possessions are in there. It’s filled with those articles that hug our curves in all the right places and make us feel beautiful. It’s also crammed with those horrible pieces of cloth that cling and creep when we’re bloated and cramped once a month and look into that congested space, hands on the hips we either love or hate, and proclaim “I have nothing to wear!”

Any human of the male species, if they had a brain in their heads, would run the other way upon hearing those words, however, as we wise women know-- they don’t- and they proceed to point out that “not one more piece of clothing will fit” or “why don’t you wear that pretty pink dress, honey?” If looks could kill, your beloved would be lying on the need-to-be-replaced-carpet with killer ants devouring his body, as you tell him, “Because it makes me look fat!” He finally leaves you to pull clothes out of the closet and toss them onto the bed, floor and any other space you can find, except the place they should be pitched…the trash can. Yes, ladies, the garbage.

I’ve learned over the years:
1. If it doesn’t compliment you in every way
2. If you haven’t worn it in over a year
3. If you don’t absolutely love it

Then out it goes!

And guess what? You don’t run out and replace it with something that’s just going to take up space.

When you shop, you buy something that:
1. Will compliment you in every way
2. You will wear this year
3. You will absolutely love

If you follow these 3 steps, you’ll find your wardrobe will work for, not against you. Plus you’ll look and feel good all the time.
